I Heart Nabokov More Than You

Awe, you guys. I took this quiz (that Eric recommended to me) that determines which author my writing style most closely resembles and this is what I got:

I write like
Vladimir Nabokov
I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

Love it! Regardless of the fact that it's so not true because I couldn't even come close to his poetic prose, but it's still nice to see.

Take it
here if you'd like and let me know who you get! All I did was copy and paste my last blog entry into a box for analysis.

  1. I was Douglas Adams. Which was weird. And nowhere near as classy as yours!

  2. I write like Kurt Vonnegut - who just happens to be my favorite author! How cool is that?! Great post! Love the idea of having my writing analyzed - I read about this site in the Guardian and had to check it out! Of course one of my entries wound up getting me the result of H.P. Lovecraft - Hmmm.

  3. Nadia - I love Vonnegut! That's awesome.

Nymeth - I've never read any Joyce but you are a great writer and he's pretty renowned so good work :)

TeaDevotee - Adams? Really? That is weird.

  4. That was fun, (although I'm a little confused), and don't write like anyone quite as illustrious as Nabokov. My writing came up with David Foster Wallace and Stephen King. ??

  5. I also write like Kurt Vonnegut. Guess its time to read Slaughterhouse-five to see if thats true or not....

  6. I got Douglas Adams - but I've never read him and my writing is far from comical! Aha!

  7. I took about six excerpts from my novel. I got Jonathan Swift, Stephen King, David Foster Wallace twice and... wait for it... Dan Brown. I thought I was talented until I realized I write like that Scooby-Doo episode writer. I am doing a blog post on this.
