Born on July 21st, 1899 he would be 112 today had he notshot himself passed away shortly before his 62nd birthday. His obituary, which ran on the front page of the New York Times states his wife claimed he "accidentally shot himself" while cleaning this gun.

Happy b-day to Papa! I read this awhile ago and loved it. The rest of the other author interviews in this series are wonderful. Have you seen Midnight in Paris yet? The Hemingway role is hilarious.

ReplyDeleteI loved the Hemingway character in Midnight in Paris!! I've been talking like Hemingway all week. I keep completing sentences with "Have you ever shot a rhino?" or ". . . and then I went to fight the bulls in Spain."
