comtemplatrix, I had a sneaky feeling I wasn't the only one!
Nymeth, Oh my gosh I am 10 times more excited for this book now. I had no idea it was your favorite novel!
petekarnas, This will be my first Eugenides and if it's as good as everyone says it is, I'm sure I'll be running for The Virgin Suicides. Then, I will be sad there isn't any more and I'll be asking the same question you are.
...and I just bought this last night! I paid $6 - still a great price. ...and funnier still, I almost purchased your "current read". My friend Luke was showing it to me, but there was no sale sticker so I passed!
I totally do the same thing -- in fact, I'm a bit of a fanatic about getting sticky things off my books. I've even gone so far as to use oil (only on shiny covers) to remove pesky stickers!
Haha! I would do the same thing.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Good one!
ReplyDeleteAh what a good book! It's one of my favorites and I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it!
ReplyDeleteLaura, I am really looking forward to reading it. I've heard great things.
ReplyDeleteI loved that book. And I hate those Oprah stickers. Also, love Half Priced Books so much.
ReplyDeleteAvid Reader, I do too! It's like a home away from home.
ReplyDeleteI hate those stickers too! Enjoy reading it - it's a great book!
ReplyDeleteI don't have something against the idea of a book club per se, but I do think Oprah isn't doing it for the right reasons.
ReplyDeleteAmused, Thanks I'm looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteBen, Agreed. Book clubs in general are great. Oprahs Book Club just isn't my thing.
Ha! Nicely done, on two counts - getting rid of that crapass sticker, and picking up that fantastic book!
ReplyDeletewe did the same. congrats on the ownership of a great book.
